Resources in Maintained Schools Research – Research Evidence and Debate

As we enter into a new financial year, renewing our understanding of school funding, budgets and spending patterns is valuable.

BESA has recently published its annual school resources survey. This seminar is an opportunity to meet with Richard Connor, who has authored this report since inception. The first part will look at historical trends in spending and the outturn figures from a panel of over 900 schools for 2016/17. Next, we’ll delve into the projections for 2017/18 and our first forecasts for 2018/19. In addition, we have new insights from headteachers on where budgets will be directed over the coming year and where there are constraints and opportunities for spending.

There will be plenty of time for discussion and debate so that we can all consider the marketplace from the perspective of a wide range of sectors and company representatives. We’ll end the session with a networking lunch, where we can continue discussing the year ahead with colleagues.
