 Julian has been in education in China for fourteen years including time as a head of department for a British international school and an examiner for the British council.

In 2013 he cofounded a company, Atlas Education, which has grown to a team of over sixty with projects including a tutorial college, an entrepreneurship programme in twenty-five government schools and white-labelled summer courses to the UK. Venture Education, founded in 2017, is a consultancy that empowers UK education in China.
