We have an 85-year heritage serving the UK education sector, and represent over 300 educational suppliers in the UK, including manufacturers and distributors of equipment, materials, books, consumables, furniture, technology, ICT hardware and EdTech to the education market. Combined, BESA’s members constitute around 80% of the market in terms of the amount spent by UK schools on products and services.

Purpose of the internship

BESA consists of a team of 12 people working across events, communications, accounts, membership and admin as well as two directors. We have recently launched two new exciting initiatives with the Department for Education (click here for more info) and are looking for a bright, proactive intern who is both well-organised, but also not afraid of cold calling. This person will primarily be working on 8 new regional roadshows we are running, however, as this won’t take up all of their time they will also work more generally in the events team and with other departments in the company as and when required.

  • Setting up for meetings at BESA offices
  • Creation of marketing letters, emails, leaflets and pages on the BESA website.
  • Drafting emails to our members and non-members about shows.
  • Updating the CRM.
