South Yorkshire-based Code Green (previously known as TCL) was formed in 2006 as part of a joint venture between Bull Information Systems Limited and Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council.

Code Green is responsible for delivering the Council’s IT operations. Among other achievements, this partnership laid the foundation for improving the delivery of Council services to Barnsley’s residents. While already providing internet and data services to the education sector across Barnsley and the surrounding area, Code Green recognised that there was an opportunity to expand their existing service to offer schools greater choice.

After exploring many different providers, Code Green chose to partner with Schools Broadband. School Broadband’s Reseller Programme enabled Code Green to maintain full relationships with its schools and deliver its own technical support.

Rachel Ruston Head of Education Services at Code Green:

“When it came to selecting a broadband provider-partner, Schools Broadband was the natural choice for Code Green. Their innovative cloud-based solution offered by far the best firewall security and flexible web filtering services on the market. The other providers just didn’t match up.

During the onboarding process, Schools Broadband aided us fully in the completion of all the regulatory compliance paperwork and their Sales Director was proactive in ensuring that we had all the help we needed to get up and running, including organising training for our sales, support and school liaison staff. We are now proud to say we have 35 of our schools using this service with many more expected to transfer over in the near future”
