The event will give you the chance to meet the BESA team and learn more about the benefits of membership, as well as receiving an update on the UK education system.

The BESA Resource our Schools campaign – what is it and why is it important for your company?

Alex Shea, BESA’s Policy Analyst, provides an overview of the new Resource our Schools campaign which aims to raise awareness of the link between resources funding and academic outcomes, and to put pressure on government to establish a minimum spending threshold per pupil. This session will cover

An overview of UK education 
BESA's Operations Director Julia Garvey and Alex Shea will give a primer on the key structures of the English school system, the national curriculum, assessment and accountability within schools – alongside emerging trends, such as the rise of the Multi Academy Trusts. The workshop also aims to give participants a good working knowledge of the key government departments and agencies.
