Dave Smith, Head of Partnerships and Events, BESA - British Educational Suppliers Association

Dave Smith has oversight for the content of BESA’s partnerships and events, as well as leading on BESA’s EdTech Exchange and Bett Futures programmes. Formerly a teacher and local authority senior inspector in London, Dave has spent over twenty years specialising in computing, education technology and online safety support for schools in the United Kingdom and overseas. He is a former Bett and ERA Awards Judge and also served as a member of the Bett Advisory Group. He recently worked with Naace (the Education Technology Association) on the EdTech Leadership Briefing Paper for school leaders. He is currently a member and governor of two primary/secondary Multi Academy Trusts in England, has been a governor of four primary and secondary schools and was previously a teacher/senior leader in 3 London schools and a UK university.

 

Ian Hunter, Founder & CEO, Lime Education Consulting Ltd

Ian has worked in the EdTech market for over 25 years and has worked for some of the largest education companies in the world including Tes Global, Discovery Education and RM Education. As Global Director, Sales Director or Commercial Director he has been responsible for driving growth across a range of EdTech products and services to schools, colleges, Universities and Ministries of Education globally.

Ian has extensive experience of working in global education markets with a network stretching across Asia and the Middle East, as well as the UK and Europe. Ian has worked with all major school membership organisations and is a regular speaker at EdTech events around the world on subjects ranging from teacher training, the impact of UK Education on International Schools worldwide and commercial strategies in China.

Above all Ian has a passion for Education and EdTech. His experience and knowledge of delivering sales and marketing growth strategies underpins the work of Lime Education.  Ian can call upon his multiple successes in defining, executing, and embedding strategic change. His network of educators, leaders and influencers across the globe gives him a unique insight and opportunity to support the growth of other businesses.

 

Michael Klemm, Managing Director, Singapore Education Network

Michael Klemm is an education professional with extensive experience in international education, employability, education technology and entrepreneurship.
In 2020, he founded and currently heads the Singapore Education Network (SEN) as a regional alliance of 1,500+ educational professionals in Singapore, Asia and beyond. SEN is a One-Stop-Service provider for the Education Sector and also manages e-commerce platform “EdTech Marketplace Asia” offering 300+ technology-enabled products for the education sector in Asia.

Michael is also a Venture Partner - Higher Education & EdTech for Education Consultancy “EDT & Partners”.
He mentors EdTech Startups in accelerators Eduspaze, 500Global and Singapore University of Social Sciences - Venture Builder Programme.
Michael is among the Top 100 influencers in EdTech 2023/24 by EdTech Digest.

Having worked for Training Institute NTUC LearningHub, the National University of Singapore, Minerva University and International Labour Organization in several countries across Asia (Singapore, India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia), he has gained substantial expertise in the education and development sector.
