Sam Fraser

Sam Fraser is Research Director at ISC Research. He currently lives in Kazakhstan and manages a team of skilled field-based researchers who gather the crucial data and intelligence directly from international school leaders and government bodies that inform the reports and services available from ISC Research. He is an expert on the international schools market in East and South East Asia, and closely supports the Europe region. He has also been based in Bahrain where he worked with the international schools in the Middle East. 

 

 

 

 

 

Nalini Cook

 

 

Nalini works at ISC with international schools, school groups, associations, investors and regulators across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. She collects both quantitative and qualitative data and compiles up to the minute market intelligence on the international school market. Nalini is an experienced public speaker and spends a significant amount of her time researching and writing content for publication and presentation within the sector. Nalini has an MA in Research and Consultancy from Lancaster University and has worked with international and independent schools for over a decade, building experience and an extensive network within both sectors.  

 

 

 

Pia Maske

 

 

Pia Maske is the East Asia Field Researcher at ISC Research. After graduating with a master’s degree in Global Politics from Ateneo De Manila University in the Philippines, Pia moved to the UK and completed her Law degree at the University of Edinburgh. Pia is a lawyer by training and is qualified to practise Law in England and Wales. Before joining ISC Research, she worked at the London offices of international law firm Baker McKenzie and of De Beers Group, advising on Corporate Law and Intellectual Property Law matters. 

 

 

 

Janelle Torres

 

As part of the ISC Field Research Team, Janelle’s tasks include the global collection of data and market intelligence, report writing, and analysis and interpretation of research data. Janelle is based in Manila, Philippines and spends her time visiting and communicating with school leaders of international schools to get to know their campuses and keep abreast with trends in international education. 

Janelle graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Development Communication from the Ateneo de Naga University and, later, a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Philippine Normal University. Prior to joining ISC Research, Janelle worked at Korean International School Philippines and then became the executive principal of a childcare centre, primarily catering to children of Chinese expatriates based in Manila. 

 

 

 

 

Julia Garvey 

 

Julia Garvey is Deputy Director General at BESA and has worked in education publishing and EdTech for over 20 years, both in-house and as an external marketing consultant. She has worked for a number of BESA members over the years such as Rising Stars and GL Assessment, and alongside EdTech Exchange founder George Burgess as Marketing Lead at Gojimo. As poacher turned gamekeeper, Julia understands the needs of our suppliers and is passionate about ensuring that every company takes full advantage of the benefits of their membership.

 

 

 

 

Steve Whitley

 

Steve is founder of EdTech Consulting and has spent 30 + years working in EdTech. Initially spending 9 years working within a local education authority, before moving onto commercial organisations selling products into the education sector. For over 28 years, Steve has worked in and managed sales, marketing and development teams within the EdTech sector.

 

 

 

 

Thomas Edwards

 

Tom is International Marketing Manager at Findel. Within his role he oversees and manages of the International marketing budget, marketing activity plans for each territory and day-to-day marketing activity. He is also responsible for the development of the International trade catalogue, distributor and consolidator marketing relationships and driving awareness of the International business unit across the business.
