BESS Vietnam 2019

BESA has always looked into markets where its members have not had a platform to showcase their products and the BESS events have managed to do so by increasing and highlighting the UK Plc in markets such as the UAE, Malaysia and, most recently, in Vietnam.

The first BESS event started in 2002 in Dubai, followed by Malaysia in 2007 and in 2019, BESA has successfully launched BESS Vietnam!

BESS Vietnam was the first BESA event in the market. The event gave UK companies the opportunity to showcase their products and services in a market going through major educational changes.

The event consisted of an exhibition area, a conference and series of educational workshops which attracted teachers, government officials and potential business partners.

The conference and workshop content were UK driven and together with 1-2-1 pre-arranged meetings gave the UK exhibitors a high profile during the two days of the event.

The Minister of Education, Mr. Phung Xuan Nha, opened the event followed by Ian Gibbons MBE, HM Consul General in Vietnam. Due to the high profile of keynote speakers, the workshops and the high quality of educational products in display, BESS Vietnam had a high media profile and made it into two of the main national TV news!

The event showcased over 25 UK companies and around 25 local and regional exhibitors, making it the largest BESS event launch ever. The event was fully supported by the Ministry of Education (Vietnam) and the Department for International Trade (UK).

The 2020 education vision from the Ministry of Education (MoE) includes a total curriculum change in the education system which has opened the doors to the education market in the country.

The MoE is undertaking a huge task to get this implemented by 2020 and have been looking into other markets, UK included, for education solutions that they can adjust to their needs and implement into their education system. The main areas that the MoE is interested are Early Years, Teacher Training, ELT & STEM subjects. BESS Vietnam took place at a strategic time to enhance and highlight the UK offer in country.

The outcome of the event has been highly positive and we are already in talks with our partner in Vietnam as well as the MoE and DIT for the second edition of this event. Keep your eyes peeled for BESS Vietnam at the end of March in 2020!
