SSAT National Conference 2016

The SSAT National Conference returned to the Birmingham ICC after a four year break in Manchester on the 1st and 2nd December 2016.

The conference consisted of a number of leading schools, principled and informed leadership workshops and morning seminars, along with the expo in Hall 3.

Main stage speakers included Sir David Carter, The National Schools Commissioner, DFE and Lord Chris Holmes MBE.

The expo area consisted of 38 exhibitors including the following BESA members: CEM, Connect, ED Lounge, Edukey, Firefly, GCSE Pod, Guardian Jobs, ITS Learning, School Planner, Schools Week,  Show My Homework and Tute.

Between workshops there was plenty of networking occurring between delegates and exhibitors, with meetings taking place near the main stage area. There were also performances by John Masefield High School, Brockhill Park Performing Arts College, North Birmingham Academy, Lordswood Girls School, Wilmington Grammar School for Girls, Sir Jonathan North Community College and Blythe Bridge High School and Sixth Form.

With some 750 headteachers and senior school leaders in attendance and with a guaranteed five fours of contact time across the two days of the exhibition, the companies who had taken a stand at the show had much to cheer about. Watch this space for how to exhibit at next year’s SSAT show or register your interest with Tim Edwards at tim@besa.org.uk.
