We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment (CUPA), a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.
This role is pivotal in helping our Cambridge-based sales teams reach their targets by identifying potential new partners, recommending new partnership deals, and supporting the delivery of in-life partnership arrangements.
About The Role
As a Senior Partnerships Manager, you will play a critical role in implementing our partnership strategies and activities in close collaboration with multiple business units. You will support the development and implementation of the partnerships strategy in Sub-Saharan Africa, building a pipeline of fit-for-purpose partners and brokering relationships to advance our commercial strategy.
Your responsibilities will include promoting Partnership for Education, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring good visibility on progress and performance with respect to partnerships. You will also be involved in market scanning and prospecting, understanding anticipated education reform opportunities, and communicating with prospective partners to build understanding and interest.
Additionally, you will support the UK-based teams in overseeing existing partnerships, ensuring they remain productive and positive, and actively seek to develop and leverage innovation at all stages.
About You
You are a proactive and positive individual with a proven track record of developing and managing successful partnerships. You have strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across different nationalities and cultures. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and at least one common language in the region will be essential in effectively communicating with a range of stakeholders.
Additionally, you’ll demonstrate;
- you’ve held high-profile roles engaging with senior dignitaries, government officials, Ministries of Education, and international organisations.
- experience of operating in international markets, particularly within the education sector.
- strong commercial acumen with experience in financial reporting, pipeline management, and forecasting.
- a proactive and results-driven approach, with a successful track record in partnership development and management.
- methodical, organised, and detail-orientation, with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- experience in working with global or cross-cultural teams and contributing to revenue through partnership-based models.
- an adaptable and flexible style, with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in working practices.
Rewards and benefits
We offer competitive salaries and benefits, and we will support you to be at your best in work and to live well outside of it. We are a hybrid working organisation, and we offer a range of flexible working options from day one. We will also consider other work arrangements if you wish to work more flexibly or require adjustments due to a disability.
