In January 2020, the UK government included Cyber Essentials in their updated security requirements for funding awards for Further Education through the Education and Skills Funding Agreements. For the 2020 to 2021 funding year, all recipients must meet the requirements for the UK’s Cyber Essentials scheme, and this will include achieving Cyber Essentials Plus certification. Considering the increase in cyber-attacks on the education sector, it is believed that this will be a requirement for all schools.

Apart from funding requirements, getting a cyber security certification will help guard your school against cyber attacks.

If you are looking at getting a cyber security certification for your school, Supreme Systems would be happy to discuss how we can help. For the past year, they have worked with organisations in the West Midlands helping them achieve Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. On average the certification process takes a few days, and we’re pleased to say that all participants have passed first time.
