PRESS INFORMATION

Employees, friends and families of one of the UK’s leading champions of hands-on learning came together to celebrate 20 years of serving the needs of educators, parents and children alike.

Learning Resources’ award-winning products in language, maths, science and early childhood education products are used by thousands of children every day, with more than 10,000 primary schools supplied in the UK alone.

Demonstrating the company is pushing all the right buttons when it comes to child’s play, over 100,000 of the Pretend & Play Cash Register alone have been sold since its introduction 20 years ago.  Still one of the top performing products, the iconic Learning Resources Cash Register has barely changed in design but remains a hit with children today.

Dennis, who opened the UK office, said: “Twenty years in business is a fantastic landmark by any standards, particularly in the face of some of the most challenging trading conditions in living memory. At Learning Resources we have a market-leading portfolio of educational toys that are of the highest quality and which are the brand of choice for teachers and parents alike.

“The team we have assembled here in King’s Lynn is outstanding and I am delighted to be able to celebrate this moment in the company’s history with so many friends and colleagues. We’re lucky enough to work in a really fun industry that focuses on children, so it was important to us that this was very much a family celebration with all ages welcome.”

Learning Resources continues to help teachers and children to work together by focussing on creating products that are hands-on and fun; so enjoyable children won’t even realise they’re learning! For example, financial awareness game Money Bags™ helps to build early money skills in an innovative way promoting coin recognition, counting and equivalency skills. Game also features realistic looking coins approved by the UK Royal Mint.

Dennis added: “Although technology has added another dimension to education, we feel a kinaesthetic approach to learning can never be replaced. As we mark 20 years, we look forward to a future where we continue to provide children with many valuable opportunities for hands-on learning.”
