BESA’s Director General wins prestigious award

At the annual Education Investor Awards on Wednesday evening, BESA Director General, Caroline Wright’s major contribution to education in the UK was celebrated when she was given the prestigious award for “Outstanding contribution by an individual”. Launched seven years ago, the EducationInvestor Awards recognises excellence in the UK’s fast-growing education industry.

The award was the final one given during the ceremony, unannounced beforehand, and was preceded by a speech outlining her achievements. As well as mentioning her outstanding work at BESA as Director and now Director General, her contributions in government, working across a range of Departments including the Department for Education, Ofsted, Partnerships for Schools, The Cabinet Office, and the Department of Trade and Industry, were highlighted.

Caroline comments “I was delighted and honoured to receive the outstanding individual contribution award, however I would like to thank BESA Director Patrick Hayes and all the BESA team for their support and contributions too. An individual contribution is only ever possible if you are surrounded by a talented and committed team – so thank you to all the team at BESA – your hard work individually all adds to BESA’s overall success.

There was additional congratulations to all BESA members who were nominated and won awards. The full list can be viewed here.
