ClickView, a global K–12 video learning platform used by more than 10,000 schools worldwide, today announced it has acquired the production business of Makematic, an award-winning educational video studio known for its work with leading museums, universities and cultural institutions.
The acquisition significantly expands ClickView’s in-house production capability, bringing 40 Makematic team members into the company and substantially increasing the creation of expert-led, curriculum-aligned classroom videos.
The move supports ClickView’s strategy of scaling high-quality educational video production — increasing output without compromising accuracy, credibility or educational integrity.
As schools, MATs and LAs increasingly review their use of open platforms such as YouTube, ClickView is strengthening its position as a safe, education-first alternative designed specifically for classroom use.
“Schools are relying on video more than ever, and they expect it to be high-quality, curriculum-aligned, and designed for real classroom use,” said Edward Filetti, CEO of ClickView. “Bringing Makematic into ClickView means we can more than triple our production output while maintaining the standards schools know and trust.”
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Why Makematic
Makematic brings deep expertise in producing high-quality educational videos, particularly across history, civics and science. Its productions are designed specifically for classroom use and developed in close collaboration with museums, universities and foundations to ensure both educational impact and subject-matter accuracy.
Makematic has partnered with leading institutions including Colonial Williamsburg, the National Constitution Center, the American Battlefield Trust and the Trust for the National Mall.
With Makematic joining ClickView, the company will:
● Deliver more high-quality, curriculum-aligned videos
● Respond more quickly to evolving curriculum needs and emerging topics
● Strengthen partnerships with trusted educational and cultural institutions worldwide
“Makematic has always focused on producing high-quality educational videos in close partnership with educators and institutions,” said Mark Nagurski, Co-Founder and CEO of Makematic. “From our first conversations with ClickView, it was
clear we shared the same priorities around quality, credibility and classroom use. Joining ClickView allows that work to reach more classrooms globally and build on the foundation we’ve established.”
What This Means for Schools
The acquisition enables ClickView not only to produce more high-quality educational videos, but also to ensure those resources reach classrooms where they are needed most.
Through ClickView, videos created in partnership with leading institutions reach more than 10,000 schools globally.
