Discovery Education, the creators of essential digital learning solutions used by students worldwide, are offering students across the UK brain-boosting resources that will keep learning going all summer long.

Often referred to as the “Summer Slide,” the extended school summer break can lead to learning loss, which according to research, can total one month of academic progress. Discovery Education’s innovative DoodleLearning maths and English programmes provide a targeted solution to  the “Summer Slide,” transforming how children practice and strengthen their skills during the school holidays.

Designed for kids aged 2-14, DoodleMaths and DoodleEnglish use advanced adaptive technology to create personalised learning programmes tailored to each child’s unique needs. Combining cutting-edge learning psychology with fun, interactive exercises, the apps deliver short, engaging sessions designed to boost confidence, close knowledge gaps, and promote steady academic growth.

Charity Lisko, Discovery Education’s Vice President for International Product, Curriculum and Content said:

“The “Summer Slide” is a challenge faced by pupils, parents, and educators alike. We’re proud to offer a solution that not only keeps children’s minds engaged in learning, but also seamlessly builds their confidence and skills in maths and English as they enjoy their summer, without adding a lot of screen time.”

The DoodleLearning apps have been shown to significantly enhance academic progression, particularly when used little and often. DoodleLearning offers four innovative products supporting learning in maths and English Language – DoodleMaths, DoodleEnglish, DoodleTables and DoodleSpell.

Practising “little and often” with Doodle has been proven to double a child’s academic progression rate, reinforcing the apps’ effectiveness.

Additionally, this summer will see the return of Doodle Learning’s popular Summer Challenge, which motivates children to practise maths and English regularly, and receive rewards in recognition of their hard work. More information on the Summer Challenge is available here.
