We’re delighted to announce the launch of our latest programme for schools in Wales! The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Nutrition and Health is now live. Schools throughout Wales are already using iAchieve to deliver the popular NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity. We wanted to offer more subject choice to our Welsh schools to assist with the implementation of vocational courses. Amanda Madine, Company Director at iAchieve said, “vocational style qualifications can really break down barriers to learning, and they offer a wonderful alternative to GCSEs for those learners that may not reach their full potential through a purely academic curriculum.”

Here at iAchieve, we always aim to provide relevant, engaging courses that are current, and offer skills and knowledge that serve the learner for life. We carefully consider the qualifications we create resources for and want learners who use iAchieve to leave school with qualifications that will allow them to progress on to relevant further study or employment. Amanda, further explained, “we’re really pleased to offer another course in Wales as part of our existing Welsh package. It gives learners real life skills and is a valuable qualification for anyone wanting to progress into related job roles. At iAchieve, it is really important to us that learners are given all the support they need to achieve happy and successful futures.”

iAchieve has developed a complete online solution, endorsed by NCFE which is matched precisely to the specification, helping schools to seamlessly introduce this highly topical qualification. Both teachers and learners can use the engaging learning platform remotely, or in the classroom. Learners can work independently, easily seeing and tracking their progress through the course, and teachers can monitor learner progress, provide feedback and mark assessments all within the iAchieve platform.

The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Nutrition and Health carries 46 capped points (equivalent to 1 B grade GCSE). The content of the course covers topics such as principles of healthy eating, how to plan a healthy diet, weight management, understanding eating disorders and food safety at home. It is relevant to all learners and teaches the art of staying healthy. The programme also covers topics relating to body image and eating disorders…these can be risk factors for young people in particular, especially with so much time spent on social media, viewing content posted by influencers and celebrities, so it’s great that this programme can help to raise awareness and greater understanding of these areas.

This new iAchieve programme aims to give learners intending to work in areas such as sport and recreation, exercise and fitness, hospitality and catering or healthcare, a real understanding of the importance of nutrition and health. Jeanette Ovenden, Product Development Director at iAchieve said, “We are so excited to be launching this new Nutrition & Health programme! The variety of topics covered throughout the programme are of real value and relevance to young people today. The subject of food hygiene and safety offers an interesting insight into effective food handling. Learners can take these skills with them if they are interested in pursuing future training or employment opportunities in the hospitality/catering sectors.

The iAchieve online learning platform has become very popular throughout Wales because of the flexibility it offers. It supports classroom delivery, independent learning and blended learning. It can be used to support a more traditional approach to learning or flipped learning.
