Teachscribe
Early years child observations made easy.
TeachScribe is a voice powered AI observational assessment tool for early years and primary education.
Currently, early-years teachers spend hours a week recording observations and student progress by typing them into an iPad or writing them on paper. In a busy classroom, this "tablet barrier" pulls teachers away from the children they're supervising, and observations often happen hours later when details have faded. With TeachScribe, staff wear our lightweight, lanyard-worn push-to-talk microphone and simply speak observations as soon as they see something they want to capture. Our AI transcribes what they've said, identifies the child, and automatically maps the activity to relevant curriculum goals whether that's Early Learning Goals, development matters, or any other framework or rubric.
The observation appears instantly in that child's profile for later review.
The result is a simple, in-the-moment way to capture observations and child progress without breaking a teacher’s natural workflow. Because observations are recorded while learning is happening, there’s less paperwork after school for teachers and fewer details are lost. Teachers tell us this in-the-moment capture removes a mental backlog, allowing them to be more present in the classroom, leading to more frequent and accurate observations, while reducing workload.
For school leaders, TeachScribe provides real-time visibility into what's happening across classrooms. The dashboard surfaces curriculum coverage at a glance, highlighting blind spots where particular children or learning areas haven't been observed recently, the kind of insight that's hard to get from paper journals or retrospective tablet entries.
