The Department for Education (DfE) is developing a new mandatory route to procuring Management Information Systems (MIS) from schools. This new framework will not just change the way schools procure management information systems, it will also set the specification of MIS systems and the data which they are required to collect. This procurement exercise is likely to have substantial implications for service providers beyond just MIS providers themselves, and may also have a commercial impact on specialist software providers, curriculum and assessment providers (particularly in KS3) and any organisation which uses MIS data as part of their products and service.
On the 6th August the Department will be providing a whole sector update on its progress with the market engagement exercise so far and would like to invite all types of members with any level of commercial interest in MIS systems to attend. During this meeting, they will provide an update on their current thinking on how the MIS Framework will work, how it will interact with the sector, and provide opportunity for suppliers beyond MIS providers to provide feedback on their plans.
This session will be led by the DfE and is being facilitated by BESA.
