Understand what the DfE’s new MIS Procurement Framework could mean for your business.

The Department for Education (DfE) is developing a new mandatory route to procuring Management Information Systems (MIS) from schools. This new framework will not just change the way schools procure management information systems, it will also set the specification of MIS systems and the data which they are required to collect. This procurement exercise is likely to have substantial implications for service providers beyond just MIS providers themselves, and may also have a commercial impact on specialist software providers, curriculum and assessment providers (particularly in KS3) and any organisation which uses MIS data as part of their products and service.

On the 6th August the Department will be providing a whole sector update on its progress with the market engagement exercise so far and would like to invite all types of members with any level of commercial interest in MIS systems to attend. During this meeting, they will provide an update on their current thinking on how the MIS Framework will work, how it will interact with the sector, and provide opportunity for suppliers beyond MIS providers to provide feedback on their plans.

This session will be led by the DfE and is being facilitated by BESA.

What you’ll leave with:

We want every attendee to leave with a clear understanding of the Department for Education’s plans for the new MIS Procurement Framework and what it could mean for their organisation.

Framework update: An overview of the DfE’s current thinking, progress to date and the next steps in developing the new framework.

Market impact: Insight into how the framework could affect MIS providers and the wider ecosystem of suppliers that rely on MIS data.

Requirements and standards: Greater clarity on the proposed specifications, data requirements and expectations that may shape future MIS solutions.

Sector engagement: An opportunity to provide feedback directly to the DfE and help inform the future direction of the framework.

Who is the webinar for:

This session is for organisations with a commercial interest in school Management Information Systems (MIS) and the data they generate, as well as those seeking to understand how the new DfE framework may affect the wider education technology market.

  • Suppliers delivering Management Information Systems to schools and trusts who need insight into the proposed procurement framework and future requirements.
  • Organisations whose products integrate with MIS platforms or rely on MIS data to support schools and educators.
