About the BESA Awards:
The BESA Awards are back! After an overwhelmingly positive response following last year's awards, we are thrilled to announce the BESA Awards are returning this year, celebrating our members' excellence and championing the best of our industry so we can all be inspired and learn from colleagues, as well as recognising the positive impact BESA members have on raising educational outcomes of children around the world.

The categories this year are Rising Star, Team of the Year, Inspirational Leader, Make the Change, Evidence and Impact, Women in Education, Supplier and School, Unsung Hero, Best Place to Work, Best Support Service, and Best Education Supplies. Entries have an academic year focus, so products or projects need to be launched/run from 1 September 2023 to 31 July 2024.

Winners will be unveiled at BESA’s annual Summer Business Insight Day on Thursday 4 July.

The awards open from Monday, 18 March until Friday, 10 May.

The BESA Awards are exclusively for member companies and are FREE to enter.

Rising Star Award

Make the Difference Award
This award is all about initiatives that are making a difference in your organisation. Have you made improvements to your D&I policies and working practices? Evidence and Impact Award
The BESA logo is a seal of approval and a kitemark of quality. Every one of our members is striving to support teachers and deliver improved outcomes for pupils. The ability to evidence the way in which we are doing this is essential. This award recognises those organisations who can demonstrate the impact that their products and services are making on teachers and learners in the UK and overseas.

School and Supplier Award
Open to companies who have collaborated with a school or educational institution across any age range or sector in a groundbreaking manner to significantly influence either educational standards, product development and design, or the operational management of the institution addressing the following criteria:
NB. Each submission requires a comprehensive case study, supported with both quantitative and qualitative evidence, illustrating the benefits gained by the school/educational institution through the collaboration. The collaboration must have happened within the academic year September 2023 to July 2024.

• How has the collaboration improved the work/outcomes of learners, educators, and/or wider staff?

The individual nominee should be someone whose contributions may not typically receive the spotlight or recognition they deserve.
This could include individuals who work behind the scenes, quietly supporting others without seeking attention, or those whose efforts may go unnoticed because they are not part of the spotlight or leadership positions within the organisation. Send in your entry form by Friday, 10 May 2024. It is essential that you meet this deadline to avoid missing the judging process. Entries received after this date will not be considered. A small entry fee will be required, for details please go to the cost of entry section.

Q. How are they judged?

A. An independent panel of expert judges will select the winners for each of the Awards.

Q. What advice can you give?

A. Read the criteria! Not every product or service will meet all the criteria, but make life easy for the judges. You know your product or service very well – they don’t.

You must match your entry as closely as possible, against the criteria asked for. Entries that do not match the majority of criteria will not be considered.

Kindly limit the amount of supporting material to clips no longer than 3 minutes and only one per entry. Any PDF documents should be no longer than 5 pages in length, with a 12 point font.

If you are entering a service for an award or nominating a company or a person, it is even more vital that you produce clear and relevant explanatory paperwork to support.

Provide all necessary back-up material: explanations of the purpose of the product or service, how it works, what it aims to do and for whom, including testimonials from schools and colleges. Please try and obtain up to date testimonials from schools and colleges where possible. Do not just print the pages from your website for the judges to read.

Include all information and resources that the judges will need to give your entry a fair hearing, e.g. passwords to enter websites. Nominations received with inadequate information or resources cannot be considered.

Complete the nomination form in its entirety. Each entry must be made on a separate official entry form.

Please note: The judges’ decision is final. The judges will place an entry in a more appropriate category if they think it is applicable. The organisers reserve the right to change deadline dates and categories as appropriate.
