We invite members and prospective members to join us for an open day at BESA’s offices. 

 

 

The event will give you the chance to meet the BESA team and learn more about the benefits of membership, how to apply for an award and what judges are looking for from an application, as well as receiving an update on the UK education system.

Making the most of your BESA membership
This seminar is designed to give you an overview of the full portfolio of services that BESA offers to ensure that your company gets maximum value from membership. It will be your chance to meet members of the BESA team and to understand our research programme, our campaigns, the wide range of member discounts offered, the UK events that BESA runs and our ever-increasing international activities!

A member of the Bett team will give an overview of the plans fro Bett London 2020 and answer any of your questions of the Bett show coming up in January 2020.

EDUCATE overview
A member of the EDUCATE core team will give a brief overview of the EDUCATE project. This is a rigorous and comprehensive training programme, designed to help start-ups, SMEs, entrepreneurs and educators to develop, evaluate and improve their products and services with the use of research evidence. BESA works in partnership with the EDUCATE programme leading the on-boarding process and assisting in their events.

Applying for awards 

This seminar focuses on how to apply for awards and what judges are looking for from an application. Presented by: John Galloway, Advisory Teacher for ICT/SEN and Inclusion for Tower Hamlets, and a freelance writer and consultant; Sal McKeown, Freelance Journalist and PLMR/Mango. These speakers will give advice about how to make your application stand out.

An overview of UK Education 
BESA's Director Patrick Hayes will give a primer on the key structures of the English school system, the national curriculum, assessment and accountability within schools – alongside emerging trends, such as the rise of the Multi Academy Trusts. The workshop also aims to give participants a good working knowledge of the key government departments and agencies. This session is for those new to the education sector.
