The session will cover top tips for great copywriting and take a closer look at some specifics including writing marketing blogs, SEO, email newsletters, writing techniques and tone of voice.
It’s ideal for you as an individual, or as a small team, to learn some useful and practical skills to make your marketing copywriting shine. You’ll learn about writing basics, writing for the web, structure, editing, and tone of voice. There is also the opportunity to put pen to paper with a few exercises, plus top tips to help you implement new skills straightaway.
During the session we’ll focus on:
- Your audience’s needs
- The nuts and bolts of good writing
- The importance of structure
- Plus, we'll look at marketing blogs and SEO and email newsletters
- And explore tone of voice
The session will be delivered via Zoom, and participants will receive a PowerPoint handout and takeaway tips.Â

Your workshop leader: Jo Davies
Jo is a corporate copy and content writer. She has broad experience in producing B2B and B2C marketing and communications content across the infrastructure, education, healthcare, energy, engineering, telecommunications, and IT sectors. A former BBC web producer and researcher, Jo was part of a team nominated for a Bafta for a BBC Education programme and has written several speeches, including for a UK Secretary of State.
