Reporting lines: Reports to the Deputy Head of Events 

Hours: Hybrid working both in the office and at home with currently a minimum of 2 days in the office per week  

Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm, flexible) 

Location: Shoreditch, London (with some travel in the UK / internationally) 

Salary: £27,000 or potentially higher depending on experience

About the role: This role requires working closely with the Head of Events and Deputy Head of Events on the delivery of all of BESA’s UK and International events (both in person and hybrid), including meetings, webinars, conferences, exhibitions and more. You will be playing an important role in a small, but hard-working and dedicated team which services one of the most important sectors in the UK, which is rapidly expanding its exports overseas. 

 

Detailed duties and responsibilities: 

 

  • Working closely with the events team on the end-to-end running of events, both in-person and online: liaising with speakers, venues and suppliers, delegate communications, badges, creating event slides, agendas, floorplans, marketing the events and managing all of the necessary logistics
  • Attending and representing BESA at events in the UK and internationally, whilst assisting our member companies to ensure the aspect of the show BESA is involved in runs smoothly
  • Working closely with the marketing team on event marketing campaigns and creating marketing materials, such as brochures, emails, leaflets, webpages, ticket pages and post-event surveys
  • Working closely with Membership to ensure we are tracking attendance and engagement of members by updating the CRM accordingly
  • All event-related administrative tasks
  • Dealing with member enquiries relating to events and BESA generally 

 

About you: 

  • Hard working individual looking to take the next step in their career 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally 
  • Confidence to engage with a wide range of organisations, often with individuals at a senior level
  • Strong organisational skills, with an ability to juggle a variety of tasks, sometimes under pressure
  • Proficient in using MS programs: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel 
  • Knowledge or experience using the following event-related programs: Canva, Adobe InDesign, SurveyMonkey, Eventbrite, Zoom, Teams 
  • Personable, engaging individual who has the ability to add value to the overall team effort 
  • Enthusiastic and committed to achieving both individual and organisational goals, demonstrating a clear understanding of BESA and what it is trying to achieve 
  • Team player. 
  • Any other duties commensurate with this role
