  • AWARDS FAQs:

    Q. What are they?

    A. The Education Resources Awards highlight the quality and diversity of educational products and resources, excellent educational establishments and the most dedicated members of the teaching profession and supplies industry, all working together to encourage the very best in education.

Now in their 25th successful year, these awards focus on the resources, services and people that really make a practical impact on learning and the day-to-day work of the teachers in the classroom.

    Q. Who organises and sponsors them?

    A. The awards are organised by Brilliant Marketing Solutions and the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA). All forms must be completed in their entirety. Your written submission should not exceed the specified 1500 word count shown. In addition to this we ask that you also include other supporting material, such as testimonials, photographs and/or technical description - these supporting documents may be permitted in addition to the word count.

All judging will take place online

Round 1 judging takes place between 7 March and 14 March

Working individually, judges will be asked to review your entry and score it against the judging criteria. To do this they will use your entry form, your website and any supporting material you have submitted. Since judges will not have access to a physical copy of your product, could you please also supply the following to assist them:

Login details and instructions for any online products

A video demonstration for any physical product.

    Tips for the video

    • Max 3 mins in length

    • This demo does NOT need to be a slick marketing video, it can as simple as one person explaining to camera how to use your product. It can be recorded on your phone or via zoom.

    • Please submit as a link to an externally hosted platform such as YouTube or Vimeo, or to a website where the video is hosted. Please do not send large video files.

    • Please submit your video by the closing date of 25 February.

Round 2 takes place between 11 and 21 April

At the end of the first round the judges preliminary scores will be tallied up and the top 10-15 entries in each category will be invited to go through to round 2. If you have been selected to take part in round 2 you will be notified by 18 March.

During Round 2 each entrant will be given a 4 minute slot to attend a video meeting where you will be able to pitch your product to the judges. These meetings will take place between 11 and 21 April. Judges will be off camera and anonymised and time limits will be strict. We will provide further guidance on these pitches should you be shortlisted.

Once all presentations have been made, the judges will then deliberate together online and make their final decisions for each category.

The finalists will be announced on Friday 18 March and the winners unveiled at our gala awards ceremony on Friday 6 May.

  • AWARDS T&Cs:

Email your Entry form by 25 February 2022 – latest. It is essential that you meet this deadline to avoid missing the judging process. Entries received after this date will not be considered. A small entry fee will be required, for details please go to the cost of entry section.

    Q. How are they judged?

    A. An independent panel of expert judges, most of whom are teaching professionals, will select the winners for each of the Awards.

    Q. What advice can you give?

    A. Read the criteria! Not every product or service will meet all the criteria, but make life easy for the judges! You know your product or service very well – they don’t.

You must match your entry as closely as possible, against the criteria asked for. Entries that do not match the majority of criteria will not be considered.

Kindly limit the amount of supporting audio visual material to clips no longer than 3 minutes and only one per entry.

If you are entering a service for an award or nominating a company or a person, it is even more vital that you produce clear and relevant explanatory paperwork – with support.

Provide all necessary back-up material: explanations of the purpose of the product or service, how it works, what it aims to do and for whom, including testimonials from schools and colleges. Please try and obtain up to date testimonials from schools and colleges where possible. Do not just print the pages from your website for the judges to read!

Include all information and resources that the judges will need to give your entry a fair hearing, e.g. passwords to enter websites. Nominations received with inadequate information or resources cannot be considered.

Complete the nomination form in its entirety. Each entry must be made on a separate official entry form.

Please note: The judges’ decision is final. The judges will place an entry in a more appropriate category if they think it is applicable. The organisers reserve the right to change deadline dates and categories as appropriate.
