Our Special Interest and Working Groups are due to meet this month.

BESA have six Special Interest Groups, and two Working Groups, that are administered by the BESA Secretariat, and completely free for members to join and you can join as many as are relevant to you. These groups meet online three to four times a year to discuss recent challenges and developments within specific focuses.

Please see more information about the groups below. Click through on the links to find out more about these groups and how to join them.

Special Interest Groups

Curriculum: The group discuss areas of opportunity and concern, and support BESA’s lobbying and campaigning activity by informing the secretariat of the current issues impacting on commercial curriculum providers.

Early Years: These are suppliers of products and services to the Early Years sector.

EdTech: The group specialise in developing scientific tools, computer applications, software and support materials to deliver professional development packages that encourage the use of ICT across education and training.

Export:  The group represents suppliers and/or manufacturers from all sectors of the education market, including books, consumables, furniture, technology, ICT hardware and EdTech to the education market.

Furniture: The group represents furniture manufacturers and furniture designers from all sectors of the education market.

Science: The group represents members and suppliers of products for teaching and learning in science, with a particular focus on encouraging that education properly prepares young people with practical as well as theoretical skills for employability in science-relevant jobs.

Working Groups

Special Needs: The group represents suppliers and/or manufacturers supplying products and services that are designed, or are used, to help those who need additional learning support of whatever nature, whether physical, mental, or a combination of both.

Women in Education: This informal advisory group advises BESA on how to maximise women’s contribution in this industry sector, facilitate networking of women across the sector, help women supporting each other in business and career growth and raise the profile of influential women in this sector.

If these sectors do not represent your interest we are open to starting new groups provided there is the demand. If you wish to join a Group or have any questions generally, please contact Yasmin for SIGs and Working Groups.
